Jerusalem Son
enlargement click here

A boy silhouetted in the archways in Old City Jerusalem's via Dolorosa evokes for all of us who identify with this place, a sense of belonging and home. In a city whose very stones cry out stories of passion and faith, inspiration and meaning, a place to which peoples have been drawn to find their common spiritual identity, this boy is one of us, surrounded by the stones and the stories.

16x24, in a dark olive/gold mat, framed in oak and under glass, a A first generation mixed media work from an original woodburning on poplar.

Man at the Market

I saw this man in Beersheba's Bedouin Market, the region where Abraham, Isaac and Jacob settled and dug wells. His expression evokes the persona of the patriarchs, prophets, teachers and their disciples whose encounters with God in this place have given rise to three of the world's great faiths.

14x18 double-cut chestnut or dark olive/gold mat, framed in oak and under glass, a limited edition reproduction from a woodburning on poplar, personally signed and numbered by the artist.

Loss of Innocence

This group of women outside a refugee camp in Bethlehem in occupied West Bank represents a flood of memories and impressions from a few years ago.. I long for the day peace with justice will come to this place - God knows these people deserve it and desperately need to find the way to rediscover and mend their kinship as children of the God of Abraham.

18x26 in a double-cut dark olive and gold double matte, framed in oak and under glass, a limited edition reproduction taken from a woodburning colorée on poplar, personally signed and numbered by the artist.

This beautiful Eritrean girl, a descendant of the Queen of Sheba, was orphaned at the age of six, and suffered the loss of her innocence as a child to abuse and servitude. Illiterate and uneducated, she managed by her wits and faith in God, to make her way to freedom in America and eventually returned to her country to begin an orphanage. Her story is told in a book entitled "Castaway Pearls" available by request for $9.00US while supplies last.

16x20 gold-trimmed chestnut/gold mat, framed in oak and under glass, a limited edition original print derived from a woodburning colorée on poplar, personally signed and numbered by the artist.

A Woman's Present Past

I saw her in the Old City, holy place for those who trace their faith to this land. Her gaze suggests remembrances of her journey here, so telling in her eyes and the beautiful lines of her face.

16x20 gold-trimmed chestnut/gold mat, framed in oak and under glass, a limited edition reproduction personally signed and numbered by the artist.
